The WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid Level 1 course is an 8 hour program, including coffee and lunch breaks and is designed to provide life-saving first aid skills to workers in industry. Successful candidates must demonstrate competency in practical skills and achieve 70% or higher on a multiple choice exam. Certification is valid for three years.
What you will learn

One person CPR
Minor injuries which require medical aid
Management of soft tissue injuries

Must be at least 16 years of age and be physically able to perform all of the First Aid tasks required to complete the learning tasks. No experience is necessary.
In order to be successful in this OFA level 1 course, candidates must demonstrate practical skill competency and achieve 70% on a multiple choice exam. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a three year certification.
The duration of the Occupational First Aid level 1 course is 8 hours. Universal Health and Safety offers an ideal learning environment with well-appointed facilities and clean and comfortable floors for the hands-on portions of the course. The facility is conveniently located near Gilmore SkyTrain station.
- Basic life support (CPR-A)
- Small wound management
- Critical airway, breathing and circulation interventions with C-spine management
$105.00 per person plus GST (all course material included).

If your class is on the weekend, please be advised there will be no office staff in to monitor the phones. Please ensure that you arrive at least 15 minutes early for your class!**
