Responsibilities

Looking to expand our Human Resources Department with an Employee Relations and Retention Specialist.  It will be your responsibility to ensure the employees are “taken care of”.  Reporting directly to the Director – Human Resources, half the day will be monitoring and returning calls from the UG Cares dedicated support line for employees while the other half of the day will be “boots on the ground” meeting with new, requested, or exemplary employees in the field.  If you hate the same routine day in and out, then this is the HR role for you.  Tight knit group of HR professionals will provide support and humour as needed.  Fast growing company with opportunity for advancement.  This position will work out of our new Aldergrove location and will require someone with a valid drivers license and the ability to walk onto a worksite without fear, and with a smile, but also be prepared to present to C-Suite Executives.  Are you our needle in a haystack?  I hope so!

Requirements

  • Relevant HR experience (3 years), OR HR diploma/certificate, OR social work/psychology experience/degree
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that have either come from direct experience or you were “just born with it”
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to produce relevant metrics and report on them
  • Team-oriented yet able to work autonomously
  • Results-driven – our team is super awesome, and we want to keep it that way!
  • Able to problem solve, be flexible, and pivot as needed, with no drama.
  • Fact driven but able to be compassionate and relatable
