WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid level 1 training is intended for workplaces that are 20 minutes or less surface travel time from medical aid and covers the basics of keeping a patient alive until more qualified help can arrive.
Universal Health and Safety is able provide the OFA level 1 course to employees of corporations and businesses. Each course can accommodate groups of up to 18 employees.
You must be at least 16 years old and have the physical ability to perform first aid skills required to complete the learning tasks. No previous first aid training is required.
In order to be successful in this OFA level 1 course, candidates must demonstrate practical skill competency and achieve 70% on a multiple choice exam. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a three year certification.
The duration of the Occupational First Aid level 1 course is 8 hours. Universal Health and Safety offers an ideal learning environment with well-appointed facilities and clean and comfortable floors for the hands-on portions of the course. The facility is conveniently located near Gilmore SkyTrain station.
