The WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid Level 3 course is designed for remote worksites or employers with large workforces located more than 20 minutes surface travel time from medical aid.
To qualify for OFA Level 3 training and subsequent certification, a person must be at least 16 years old and have the physical ability to perform first aid skills required to complete the learning tasks. No previous first aid training is required.
Certification requires full participation and course attendance. Candidates must demonstrate practical skill competency and achieve 70% on a multiple choice exam. Upon successful completion, the participant will receive certification that is valid for three years.
The duration of this course is 70 hours over 10 classroom days. The Universal Health and Safety Academy offers an ideal learning environment with well-appointed facilities and clean and comfortable floors for the hands-on portions of the course. The facility is centrally located between Lake City and Production Way SkyTrain stations.
The procedures will follow the guidelines described in the Occupational First Aid Reference and Training Manual.
