Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. This course provides greater detail in dealing with broken bones, concussions as well as heat and cold stress related injuries. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets all federal and the highest level of provincial/territorial regulations for standard first aid and CPR.
A person must be at least 16 years old and have the physical ability to perform first aid skills required to complete the learning tasks. No previous first aid training is required.
Certification requires full participation and course attendance. Candidates must demonstrate practical skill competency and achieve 70% on a multiple choice exam. Upon successful completion, the participant will receive certification in Standard First Aid, CPR Level A, C, or HCP, and automated external defibrillator (AED) that is valid for three years.
The duration of this course is 16 hours.
